Ingredients
  

Cookie Base

  • 1/2 batch The Best Sugar Cookie Dough Prepare a half-batch of the best sugar cookie dough.

Frosting

  • 1 batch The Best Buttercream Frosting Make a batch of the best buttercream frosting.

Decorations

  • to taste Nonpareils Christmas Sprinkles Use colorful sprinkles for decoration.
  • 3-4 drops Wilton Color Right Food Coloring: Red, Crimson, Yellow, Blue Use food coloring to tint the frosting.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Make a half-batch of the best sugar cookie dough.
  • Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface to about ¼ inch thick.
  • Use a small square cookie cutter to cut out the cookie shapes.
  • Place cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 4-5 minutes, checking for slight golden edges.

Frosting and Decorating

  • While cookies are baking, prepare the buttercream frosting and divide it into three bowls.
  • Color one bowl green, one red, and leave one bowl white.
  • Once cookies have cooled completely, frost them with the prepared buttercream.
  • Top with Nonpareils Christmas Sprinkles.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for 3-5 days at room temperature. For longer storage, freeze cookies for up to 2 months.
