Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Whisk until well blended.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
  • Roll the dough into balls or roll it out on a floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness for cookie cutters.
  • Place cookie shapes on ungreased baking pans, leaving space between them.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, until golden around the edges.
  • Let the cookies cool on wire racks.

Decoration

  • Once cooled, decorate with royal icing and sprinkles.
