Christmas Crack, also known as Saltine Cracker Toffee, is a simple yet delightful holiday treat that combines salty crackers with a rich toffee and chocolate topping, perfect for gatherings or gifting.

Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup Dark Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup Butter (two sticks)
  • 12 oz Chocolate Chips High-quality chocolate recommended.
  • 1 box Saltine Crackers Enough to cover the baking pan.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Line a 9 by 13-inch baking pan with foil.
  • Place saltine crackers in a single layer in the prepared pan.

Toffee Making

  • In a saucepan, combine butter and dark brown sugar. Stir over medium heat until it comes to a rolling boil.
  • Boil for about three minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Carefully pour the toffee mixture over the saltines and spread evenly.

Baking

  • Bake the mixture in the oven for approximately seven minutes.
  • Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee.
  • Spread the melted chocolate evenly with a spatula.

Setting & Serving

  • Add desired toppings before cooling.
  • Allow to cool at room temperature, then refrigerate until chocolate sets.
  • Break into pieces and serve.

Notes

Christmas Crack can be made a few days in advance. Store in an airtight container for freshness. Experiment with different toppings such as nuts or crushed peppermint for a holiday twist.
