  • 1 cup butter, softened Ensure it is at room temperature.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs Use room temperature.
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour Measure accurately.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Use your preferred type.
  • 1 package Pillsbury sugar cookies To create delightful surprises in each cookie.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Add the vanilla extract and eggs, mixing well after each addition.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring gently until combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips carefully.

Baking

  • On a lined baking sheet, drop mounds of cookie dough, placing a small piece of Pillsbury sugar cookie dough on top of each mound.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Make sure to store cookies in an airtight container with parchment paper in between to prevent sticking. Can be frozen for up to three months.
