Ingredients
  

Oreo Crust

  • 2 cups Oreo crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Cheesecake Filling

  • 4 packages (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract

Topping

  • 1 cup chocolate ganache
  • Crushed peppermint candies for garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  • Combine Oreo crumbs with melted butter in a bowl and mix well.
  • Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a springform pan to create a crust.
  • In another bowl, whip the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Incorporate sour cream, cocoa powder, and peppermint extract into the mixture, stirring gently.
  • Pour the cheesecake filling over the prepared Oreo crust and spread evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for about 55-60 minutes until the edges are set and the center has a slight jiggle.
  • Allow the cheesecake to cool and then refrigerate for several hours or overnight.

Serving

  • Pour the chocolate ganache over the cheesecake and sprinkle with crushed peppermint candies before serving.
  • Slice into wedges and serve with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.
