Chocolate-Dipped Sugar Cookies
Delicious and easy to make, chocolate-dipped sugar cookies feature a soft, buttery vanilla dough topped with rich chocolate, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
For the cookie dough
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure it's at room temperature.
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg Use room temperature.
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the chocolate dip
- 1 cup chocolate chips Use high-quality chocolate for best results.
- Sprinkles for topping Optional for decoration.
Instructions
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well blended.
- Gradually add the flour mixture into the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
Baking and Cooling
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Dipping and Decorating
- Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 30-second intervals and stirring until smooth.
- Dip each cooled cookie halfway into the melted chocolate, letting the excess drip off.
- Before the chocolate sets, add sprinkles on top for decoration.
- Place cookies back on parchment and allow the chocolate to set completely before serving.
