Ingredients
  

For the Dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Use high-quality unsalted butter for best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds flavor to the cookies.
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Make sure to measure accurately.
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Use high-quality chocolate chips.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Can omit if using salted butter.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add in the vanilla extract and mix well.
  • Gradually incorporate the all-purpose flour and salt, stirring gently until the dough comes together.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Roll the dough into small balls about 1 inch in diameter and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Gently flatten each ball with your hand or the bottom of a glass.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
