Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature Ensure the butter is soft for better mixing.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar Use light or dark based on preference.

Additions

  • 1-2 cups chocolate chips Adjust to taste; mix dark, milk, or semi-sweet.
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt Enhances the flavor of the chocolate.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
  • In a separate bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and sea salt.

Baking

  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
  • Allow to cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
