Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda, corn starch, and salt. Whisk until evenly mixed and set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, blending until well combined.
  • Gradually fold the flour mixture into the wet ingredients until almost fully combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips, reserving a handful for topping.
  • Transfer the dough to the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Scatter the reserved chocolate chips on top.
  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until the edges are golden brown. Allow to cool in the pan for about an hour before cutting into bars.
