Ingredients
  

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour (210g)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar (150g)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter room temperature (113g)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (5ml)
  • 3 very ripe bananas mashed (1½ cups)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (180g)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat sugar and butter on medium-high speed until pale and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by vanilla extract.
  • Fold in the mashed bananas until combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  • Stir in most of the chocolate chips, reserving a few to sprinkle on top.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle reserved chocolate chips on top.
  • Bake for approximately 60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean or with a few crumbs attached.
  • Allow to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
