Instructions

Dough Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Gradually add water until a smooth dough forms.
  • Knead the dough for about 5-10 minutes until it is elastic. Cover it with a damp cloth and set aside for 30 minutes.

Filling Preparation

  • In another bowl, combine ground chicken, onion, garlic, ginger, green chilies, cilantro, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly blended.

Dumpling Assembly

  • Divide the dough into small balls. Roll each ball into a thin circle, about 3-4 inches in diameter, on a floured surface.
  • Place a small spoonful of the chicken filling in the center of each circle.
  • Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape, pinching the edges together to seal tightly.
  • Crimp the edges for a decorative touch if desired.

Cooking

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil and carefully place the dumplings inside. Steam them for about 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked.
  • Alternatively, pan-fry them in a bit of oil before adding a little water and covering to steam.

Serving Suggestions

  • Arrange the dumplings on a plate or in a bamboo steamer basket for presentation.
  • Serve with a tangy dipping sauce made from soy sauce, sesame oil, and chili sauce.
