  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded Use rotisserie chicken for convenience.
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded Can mix with other cheeses for variation.
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup self-rising flour Essential for the biscuit topping.
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika For topping.
  • 1 cup chicken broth Adds moisture and flavor.
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped For garnish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken with the cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix well.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the milk and melted butter until fully combined.
  • Gradually add the self-rising flour to the milk and butter mixture. Stir gently until you have a smooth batter.
  • Lightly grease your baking dish and pour the chicken mixture into it, spreading evenly.
  • Pour the milk batter over the chicken mixture and then pour the chicken broth over everything.
  • Sprinkle paprika and chopped green onions on top.

Baking

  • Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes
