Ingredients
  

For the Cookie Dough

  • 1 cup brown butter Brown the butter for a nutty flavor.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon chai spice mix Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 cup chai sugar For rolling the cookie dough.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Melt the brown butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden brown with a nutty aroma. Let cool slightly.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Whisk until smooth.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until fully incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, salt, and chai spice mix. Gradually add to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Roll the dough into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball in chai sugar.

Baking

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and space the cookie dough balls a few inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden and centers remain soft.

Cooling

  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra touch, drizzle melted chocolate over cookies. Store in an airtight container for up to one week.
