Caramel Apple Cobbler Dessert

Ingredients
  

For the Apple Filling

  • 6 medium apples, peeled and sliced (Granny Smith and Honeycrisp recommended) Mix of tart and sweet apples for best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce For mixing with apples.

For the Biscuit Topping

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce, for drizzling To finish the dessert.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, toss sliced apples with granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt. Add in 1/4 cup of caramel sauce and mix well.
  • Evenly distribute the apple mixture in the prepared baking dish.

Biscuit Topping

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and another pinch of salt. Then add melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract, mixing until just combined.
  • Spread the batter over the apple mixture without stirring it in. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.

Finishing Touch

  • Remove from oven and drizzle the remaining 1/4 cup of caramel sauce on top.
  • Allow to cool for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes
