Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your cake pans.
Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a medium-sized bowl.
In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy using an electric mixer.
Gradually add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
Gradually add the sifted dry ingredients, alternating with milk, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix gently until just combined.
Divide the batter between the prepared pans and smooth the tops with a spatula.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the cakes to cool for 10 minutes in the pans, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
