  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened Ensure it's at room temperature for best mixing
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Can substitute with other extracts if desired
  • 1-2 tbsp milk Add gradually to adjust consistency
  • Food coloring Optional for coloring the mints

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Prepare your workspace by having all ingredients ready.
  • In a mixing bowl, place the powdered sugar and add the softened butter.
  • Mix together using a hand mixer or spatula until combined and smooth.
  • Add vanilla extract and mix again.
  • If the mixture is dry, gradually add milk, one tablespoon at a time, until a soft consistency is achieved.
  • For colorful mints, divide the mixture and add food coloring to each bowl, mixing until desired color is reached.

Shaping

  • Roll small portions of the mixture into balls or desired shapes, using cookie cutters if preferred.
  • Place shaped mints on a sheet of wax paper, spacing them apart.
  • Let the mints set at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

Notes

Store mints in an airtight container to keep them fresh. They last up to a week at room temperature or three weeks refrigerated. Let them return to room temperature before serving after chilling.
