Ingredients

  • 1 lb thinly sliced ribeye beef
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tsp gochujang optional
  • 2 green onions chopped
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds optional

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade

  • In a medium bowl, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger. If you're using gochujang for a little spice, add it to the mixture. Stir everything together until the sugar dissolves completely and the marinade is smooth.

Marinate the Beef

  • Add the thinly sliced ribeye beef to the bowl with the marinade. Toss the beef in the marinade, ensuring every slice is well-coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. If you have time, marinate for up to 2 hours for even more flavor.

Cook the Bulgogi Beef

  • Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Once the pan is hot, add the marinated beef in a single layer. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, turning the beef occasionally, until it's browned and caramelized. You may need to cook the beef in batches depending on the size of your pan.

Finish and Serve

  • Once the beef is cooked, transfer it to a serving dish. Sprinkle with the chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds for added flavor and a little crunch.
