  • 1 medium onion, sliced Sauté until soft and translucent.
  • 1 cup cheese (cheddar or blue cheese), shredded Choose your favorite cheese.
  • 4 pieces hoagie rolls Good quality rolls are important.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For sautéing the onions.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust according to personal preference.

Preparation

  • Start by pouring the olive oil into a large skillet and set it over medium heat.
  • Add the sliced onions to the skillet and sauté them for about 4-5 minutes until they are soft and translucent.
  • Introduce the chicken strips into the skillet, season them with salt and pepper, and cook for approximately 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is fully cooked.
  • Pour the buffalo sauce over the cooked chicken and stir well, allowing it to simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Fill each hoagie roll generously with the buffalo chicken mixture.
  • Heap a handful of shredded cheese on top of the chicken in each roll.
  • Place the filled hoagie rolls under the broiler for a few minutes until the cheese melts and starts to bubble.
  • Remove the sandwiches from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
