Ingredients
  

Chicken Wings

  • 2 pounds chicken wings Preferably fresh, thawed if using frozen.

Marinade

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar Packed tightly.
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice Freshly squeezed or canned.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Low sodium option can be used.
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Glaze

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch To thicken the glaze.
  • 1 tablespoon water For slurry.

Garnish

  • to taste chopped green onions Optional, for garnish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, pineapple juice, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well blended.
  • Add chicken wings to the marinade, and toss until well-coated. Marinate for at least 15 minutes, preferably overnight for deeper flavor.

Cooking

  • Arrange marinated wings on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, turning halfway, until golden brown and cooked through.
  • While wings bake, make the glaze by mixing cornstarch with water in a small saucepan, then add the remaining marinade and bring to a simmer until thickened.
  • Brush thickened glaze over wings once they are out of the oven.

Serving

  • Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.

Notes

For crispy wings, avoid overcrowding on the baking sheet. Broil for 2-3 minutes at the end of baking for extra crispiness.
