Ingredients
  

  • 6 pieces donuts with white icing
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 6 tablespoons water
  • 1/3 cup corn syrup for glass candy
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup for blood syrup
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • as needed red food coloring

Instructions
 

  • Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, and 1/3 cup corn syrup. Stir until dissolved, then bring to a boil.
  • Watch for the mixture to reach 300°F (hard crack stage) and then pour it onto the lined baking sheet.
  • Allow the candy to cool for 1-2 hours until hardened, then break it into shards.
  • In a bowl, mix 1/2 cup corn syrup, corn starch, and red food coloring until smooth for the blood syrup.
  • Drizzle the red syrup over the iced donuts and top with broken candy glass pieces.
