Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Gently fold in the blueberries and rolled oats, if using, until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  • Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop rounded portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Baking

  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may look slightly underbaked but will set as they cool.
  • Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Choose the ripest blueberries for the best flavor. For variations, consider adding lemon zest or chocolate chips.
