Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces chicken thighs Use skin-on for more flavor
  • 1 cup white rice Rinse before cooking
  • 2 cups chicken broth Low sodium preferred
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream For richness
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For searing the chicken
  • to taste salt and pepper Use as needed for seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • for garnish Fresh parsley Chopped

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Season chicken thighs with salt, pepper, and paprika, then add to the skillet.
  • Sear chicken for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown, then remove from the skillet and set aside.

Cooking

  • In the same skillet, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until softened and fragrant.
  • Stir in chicken broth and heavy cream, then bring the mixture to a simmer.
  • Return the browned chicken to the skillet, lower the heat, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
  • While the chicken simmers, cook the white rice according to package instructions.
  • Serve the chicken and sauce over the rice and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days. For longer storage, freeze the chicken and gravy separately for up to 3 months.
