  • 1 cup 237 ml Hot Brewed Coffee

Chocolate Fudge Frosting

Instructions

Preheat and Prepare Pans

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two 8-inch round cake pans with parchment paper and spray them with baking spray.

Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda until well combined.

Add Wet Ingredients

  • Pour in the vegetable oil and stir to coat the dry ingredients. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.

Stir in Buttermilk and Coffee

  • Slowly add the buttermilk, stirring to combine. Then, pour in the hot coffee and mix until the batter is smooth.

Bake the Cake Layers

  • Divide the batter evenly between the pans and bake for 29-36 minutes. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 8-10 minutes.

Frost with Chocolate Fudge Frosting

  • Once the cakes are cool, spread a generous layer of chocolate fudge frosting on each layer. Stack the layers and frost the top and sides of the cake.
