Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Add-ins

  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda. Set it aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt together until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing until fully incorporated after each addition.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they’re evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Baking

  • Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie for spreading.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers remain soft.
  • Remove from the oven and let the cookies sit on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality chocolate chips and allow the dough to rest in the refrigerator for at least an hour before baking.
