There’s something comforting about a plate of beef tips and rice. The tender beef, savory broth, and warm rice make for a meal that feels like a hug. Whether you're cooking for family, hosting friends, or just craving something satisfying, this dish is a perfect go-to comfort food.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Season the beef tips with salt and pepper, then add them to the skillet. Sear the beef until it’s browned on all sides, then remove from the pan and set it aside.
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until the onions are translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
Return the beef tips to the skillet and add the beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and dried thyme. Stir everything together, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat and cover. Let it simmer for 30-45 minutes, or until the beef tips are fork-tender.
While the beef tips are simmering, cook the rice according to the package instructions. Once cooked, fluff the rice with a fork.
Once the beef tips are tender and the sauce has thickened, serve the beef over the rice and garnish with parsley if desired.
