Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 8 ounces water chestnuts, drained and minced
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon creamy peanut butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • Green onions, thinly sliced (for garnish)
  • Crushed peanuts (optional for garnish)
  • Butter lettuce, bib lettuce, or iceberg lettuce (for wrapping)

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, combine hoisin sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and creamy peanut butter. Whisk until smooth.
  • In a medium frying pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and minced onion. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  • Add minced water chestnuts to the pan, then stir in the sauce mixture. Let simmer on low heat for 3-4 minutes.
  • Fill lettuce leaves with the beef mixture and garnish with green onions and crushed peanuts.
