  • 2 lbs Ground Beef You can substitute with lamb or a mix.
  • 1 medium Onion Finely chopped.
  • 3 cloves Garlic Finely chopped.
  • 1 cup Fresh Parsley Finely chopped.

Spices

  • 2 teaspoons Cumin Key spice for flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper

Preparation

  • Finely chop the onion, garlic, and fresh parsley. A small food processor works well for this.
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with the chopped onion, garlic, and parsley.
  • Sprinkle in the cumin, salt, and pepper; mix everything together until just combined.
  • Shape the mixture into cylindrical kebab shapes or patties.

Cooking

  • Preheat grill or pan over medium-high heat.
  • Cook the kofta for about 4-6 minutes on each side until they reach an internal temperature of 160 to 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Let kofta rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve kebab style, on a platter, or wrapped in bread. Include sides like rice or grilled vegetables for a complete meal. Chilling the mixture helps hold the kofta together during cooking.
