Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger minced
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch optional, for thickening

Instructions

Prep the Beef and Broccoli

  • Slice the beef thinly against the grain, which helps make it tender. Cut the broccoli into florets, ensuring they’re all roughly the same size for even cooking.

Make the Stir-Fry Sauce

  • In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, garlic, ginger, and beef broth. If you want a thicker sauce, mix in the cornstarch with a bit of water and stir until smooth.

Cook the Beef

  • Heat sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the sliced beef. Stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until it’s browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.

Stir-Fry the Broccoli

  • In the same skillet, add a little more sesame oil if needed. Toss in the broccoli and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes or until it’s bright green and slightly tender but still crisp.

Combine and Cook Together

  • Return the beef to the skillet with the broccoli. Pour the stir-fry sauce over everything and toss to coat. Continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through and the sauce has thickened slightly.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Once your beef and broccoli are perfectly coated in the savory sauce, it’s ready to serve. Enjoy it hot over steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal!
