Ingredients
  

  • 16 oz. firm or extra firm tofu
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 tsp. smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. salt (more or less to taste)
  • ¼ tsp. black pepper
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (or more to taste)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven or air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Pat the tofu dry with kitchen paper to remove excess moisture.
  • Tear the tofu into bite-size pieces for better absorption of flavors.
  • Toss the tofu pieces with olive oil, soy sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until well coated.
  • Spread the seasoned tofu on a baking sheet in a single layer.
  • Bake for 25 minutes, or 15 minutes in an air fryer, until slightly charred and crispy.
  • Remove from the oven and toss with ½ to ¾ cup of BBQ sauce to coat.
  • Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
  • Serve warm, adding more BBQ sauce if desired.
