Ingredients
  

Meatball Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce for glaze (optional)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, black pepper, and egg. Mix gently but thoroughly.
  • Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter, and place them on the lined baking tray.
  • Brush hoisin sauce over the top of each meatball if using.

Cooking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until cooked through and golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
  • Brush on more hoisin sauce for extra glaze if desired.

Notes

Do not overmix the meatball mixture to maintain tenderness. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes for enhanced flavor. For moisture, soak breadcrumbs in water or broth before mixing.
