Ingredients
  

Filling and Topping

  • 2 cans apple pie filling (21 ounces each) Use high-quality canned apple pie filling.
  • 1 teaspoon apple pie spice (divided use) Use 1/2 teaspoon in the filling and 1/2 teaspoon on top.
  • 1 box French vanilla or yellow cake mix (15.25 ounces) You can customize with other flavors if desired.
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional) Adds extra texture and flavor.
  • 3/4 cup salted butter (melted) Ensure it is evenly poured over the mixture.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  • Spray a 9×13-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Spread the apple pie filling evenly across the bottom of the pan.
  • Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of apple pie spice over the filling and mix gently.
  • Evenly sprinkle the cake mix on top of the apple filling.
  • Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 teaspoon of apple pie spice and optional pecans on top.
  • Pour the melted butter evenly over the entire mixture.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the top is light golden brown and bubbling around the edges.
  • Let the cake cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, or whipped cream for best results. Optionally, sprinkle a bit of cinnamon on top before serving.
