Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line an 8x8 inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
In another bowl, mix melted butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla extract, then mix well.
Combine the wet and dry ingredients. Fold in the chopped apples.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let cool before slicing into squares. Serve warm or at room temperature.
