Ingredients
  

Bread Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup softened salted butter At room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg At room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Sifted
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/3 cup sugar (for the filling)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon (for the filling)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (for topping)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 loaf pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until well incorporated.
  • Pour in the buttermilk and mix until fully blended.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour and baking soda, then slowly add to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  • In another small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon for the filling.

Assembly

  • Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle with half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Gently swirl with a knife.
  • Pour the remaining batter on top, sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture, and swirl again.
  • Drizzle melted butter over the top.

Baking

  • Bake for 50 to 70 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean. Check regularly as baking time may vary.
  • Allow to cool in the pan for about 20 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Room temperature ingredients yield a better texture. Avoid overmixing to prevent a dense loaf. Allow to cool completely for easier slicing.
