  • 2 medium zucchini Look for firm zucchinis without soft spots.
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Can substitute with almond flour for gluten-free.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Can substitute with other cheeses like cheddar or mozzarella.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Adds flavor to the coating.
  • 1 teaspoon paprika Gives a nice color and flavor.
  • to taste Salt Use any preferred salt.
  • to taste pepper Freshly ground black pepper is best.
  • 1 egg Beaten, used for coating the zucchini.

Preparation

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) to get that perfect crispy texture.
  • Wash the zucchini thoroughly and slice them into fry shapes or sticks, keeping them uniform for even cooking.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Dip each zucchini stick into the beaten egg, allowing excess to drip off, then roll in the breadcrumb mixture to coat thoroughly.
  • Arrange the coated zucchini in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding.
  • Cook for 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even crispness.
  • Check for crispiness, they should be golden brown. If needed, air fry for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  • Remove the fries from the air fryer and serve while warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For variations, try adding cayenne pepper for heat or using different cheese. Store cooled fries in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
