For the Pumpkin Seeds

  • 1 cup raw pumpkin seeds (also called pepitas) Ensure seeds are cleaned properly.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Used for coating the seeds.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder For a savory flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon paprika Smoked or regular can be used.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper For seasoning.
  • a pinch cayenne pepper Optional for heat.
  • a drizzle honey Optional for a sweet version.

Preparation

  • Start by cleaning the pumpkin seeds if you’re using fresh seeds. Remove any pulp and rinse the seeds under cold water.
  • Pat them dry with a towel.
  • In a bowl, mix the cleaned pumpkin seeds with olive oil, ensuring each seed gets a light coating.
  • Add salt, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper. If desired, add a pinch of cayenne pepper. Stir to combine until the seeds are evenly coated.

Cooking

  • Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C).
  • Once preheated, spread the seasoned pumpkin seeds in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  • Cook for about 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.
  • Keep an eye on the seeds during the last few minutes, as they can quickly go from perfectly roasted to burnt.
  • Once they are golden brown, remove the seeds from the air fryer and let them cool before serving.

Notes
