Chickpeas Ingredients

  • 1 can 15 ounces chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)

Preparation

  • Begin by draining and rinsing your chickpeas under cold water. Pat them dry with a clean dish towel or paper towel to remove excess moisture.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the chickpeas, olive oil, minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Toss everything together until the chickpeas are evenly coated.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.

Cooking

  • Once the air fryer is heated, add the seasoned chickpeas into the fryer basket in a single layer.
  • Air fry the chickpeas for around 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to promote even cooking.
  • Once they turn golden and crispy, remove the chickpeas from the air fryer and transfer them to a bowl. Drizzle with lemon juice for an extra layer of flavor, if desired.
  • Let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
