  • 2 large russet potatoes Ideal for fries.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For tossing.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Or to taste.
  • ½ teaspoon pepper Or to taste.

Preparation

  • Wash and peel the russet potatoes thoroughly to remove any dirt.
  • Slice the potatoes into thin strips, aiming for uniform thickness.
  • Soak the cut potato strips in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes.
  • Drain the potato strips and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.
  • In a mixing bowl, toss the dried potato strips with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).

Cooking

  • Place the seasoned potato strips in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  • Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  • Check the fries towards the end of the cooking time to avoid overcooking.

Serving

  • Once golden brown and crispy, remove the fries from the air fryer and serve hot.

Notes

For best results, serve fries fresh. If storing leftovers, let them cool completely before placing them in an airtight container. Reheat in the air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for 5-7 minutes.
