Ingredients

Cauliflower Wings

  • 1 large head large head of cauliflower
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water (or plant-based milk for added flavor) Use plant-based milk for enhanced flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup bread crumbs (panko works great) Panko breadcrumbs give extra crispiness.
  • 1/4 cup your favorite hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

Preparation

  • Begin by washing and cutting the cauliflower into bite-sized florets, ensuring they are all roughly the same size for even cooking.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, water, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper until smooth to create the batter.
  • Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, allowing excess to drip off.
  • In another bowl, add the breadcrumbs and toss each batter-coated floret into the breadcrumbs, making sure to coat them evenly.

Cooking

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Arrange the breaded cauliflower in a single layer in the air fryer basket, using multiple batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
  • Air fry the florets for about 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even crispiness, until the wings are golden brown and crispy.
  • While the cauliflower cooks, mix the hot sauce and olive oil in a bowl.
  • Once your cauliflower wings are cooked, transfer them to a large bowl and drizzle the hot sauce mixture over the top. Toss to coat evenly.
  • Return the wings to the air fryer for an additional 2-3 minutes if you prefer them extra crispy.
