Ingredients
  

For the breading

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined Ensure shrimp are thawed and dried.
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch) Substitute with seasoned or homemade breadcrumbs if desired.
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs Can substitute with a mixture of milk and flour or aquafaba.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Cooking spray or olive oil for spritzing Use to promote crispiness.

Preparation

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Set up your breading station: Place the all-purpose flour in one shallow bowl, whisk the eggs in a second bowl, and mix the breadcrumbs with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper in a third bowl.
  • Dredge each shrimp in the flour, ensuring it is evenly coated. Shake off any excess flour.
  • Dip the shrimp into the whisked eggs, letting any excess egg drip off.
  • Coat the shrimp in the seasoned breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to ensure an even layer adheres.

Cooking

  • Arrange shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding.
  • Lightly spritz the shrimp with cooking spray or olive oil.
  • Air fry for about 7-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the shrimp are golden and cooked through.
  • Remove the shrimp from the basket and serve immediately.
