  • 4 medium medium-sized sweet potatoes Select sweet potatoes of similar size for even cooking.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Optional for crispier skin.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Wash and scrub the sweet potatoes to remove any dirt, then pat them dry with a clean towel.
  • If desired, rub the sweet potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Pierce each sweet potato several times with a fork.
  • Place the sweet potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they aren't touching.

Cooking

  • Cook the sweet potatoes for about 35-40 minutes, flipping them halfway through.
  • Check for doneness by inserting a fork or knife into the center; it should pierce easily.

Serving

  • Remove the sweet potatoes from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
  • Cut each sweet potato in half lengthwise and mash the inside gently with a fork.
  • Top with your choice of toppings such as Greek yogurt, sour cream, or maple syrup.
