  • 1 whole turkey (12-14 pounds) 1 whole turkey (12-14 pounds), thawed Ensure it's fully thawed before cooking.
  • 1/4 cup 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons 2 tablespoons onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • to taste Fresh herbs for garnish (optional) Use herbs like rosemary or thyme.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Remove the giblets and neck from the turkey cavity, then rinse the turkey under cool water and pat it dry with paper towels.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, thyme, rosemary, and sage to create a seasoning rub.
  • Rub the seasoning mixture all over the turkey, ensuring even coverage on the skin and inside the cavity.

Cooking

  • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  • Place the turkey breast-side down in the air fryer basket.
  • Cook the turkey for 1 hour.
  • After 1 hour, carefully flip the turkey over to breast-side up and continue cooking for another 1 to 1.5 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) in the thickest part of the breast and thigh.
  • Once cooked, remove the turkey from the air fryer and let it rest for at least 20-30 minutes before carving.

Notes

For best results, brine the turkey a day before cooking for added moisture and flavor. Ensure the turkey fits comfortably in the air fryer. Use a meat thermometer to check doneness, and let it rest before slicing for optimal flavor.
