  • 1 cup self-rising flour Can make your own by combining all-purpose flour with baking powder and salt.
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt Thicker yogurt provides better results compared to regular yogurt.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour and Greek yogurt. Stir until the mixture forms a shaggy dough.
  • Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead it gently for about 1-2 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Divide the dough into four equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope about 6-8 inches long and shape it into a ring, pinching the ends to seal.
  • Place the shaped bagels onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Optionally brush the tops with a little olive oil and sprinkle with toppings like sesame seeds or everything bagel blend.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until they are golden brown and puffed up.
  • Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

Store leftover bagels in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days. For longer storage, freeze them individually wrapped. Reheat in the oven or toaster before serving.
